Heading south from Sidney we find our way to Victoria's Inner Harbor and tie up midway between the Fairmont Empress Hotel and the Parliament Buildings. As guests of Jerry and Judy Greth and the Flounder Bay Yacht Club we have a great berth with a commanding view on all sides.....great for pics! The MV Coho docks nearby and the Fireboats come out and play.

The Parliament buildings are incredible. Certainly worth a trip to Victoria all by themselves. A few days only affords a tiny overview.

And when the lights come on it's truly a delight.

I like the Mikelson Yachts and had to get a pic. Dockspace was reserved well in advance and every inch was filled up. Not far from Parliament I found an interesting plaque showing that climate change has been part of earth history for a long time.....and I bet it keeps on changing despite the hand wringing of beggar politicians. The final pic on this page shows the stage in front of parliament. Feist was the headliner for Festival 150. celebrating the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Crown Colony of British Columbia-- here's Leslie Feist singing Sea Lion; I like it , I like the beat and the way it builds. Do I hear a touch of Ricki Lee Jones?......Sarah McLachlan was there, too All of this was set to happen on Monday, August 4, 2008.......and off we go on page 3.
